The REAM Foundation only accepts invited proposals at this time.
We make grants to a limited number of outstanding organizations whose impactful work supports and advances our mission and vision. The Foundation invests in organizations that are doing cutting edge, innovative work leading to exceptional results.
The Foundation values personal engagement with its grantees, and therefore is particularly interested in organizations with which its board and staff are personally involved or familiar. We give priority to those applicants with whom we have an established relationship.
Please click the links below to view our "Roadmaps," which depict our approach to each of our giving areas. We support organizations whose strategies and outcomes are consistent with those described in our Roadmaps.
- Improving access to and quality of education
- Supporting innovative approaches to improving health and wellness
- Nurturing the arts and cultural endeavors
The Foundation funds approximately 10–12 organizations per year through our Sustaining grants. These grants range from $5,000 to $25,000. Applicants must be U.S.-based 501(c)(3) public charities. Most funded organizations serve the Chicagoland area.
If you have recently spoken with someone from our Foundation, or if your organization closely aligns with our guidelines and you would like to let us know about your work for future consideration, please submit a brief statement of inquiry here. The board makes funding decisions semi-annually in the spring and fall. Please note that the number of inquiries we receive far exceeds the number of grant proposals that we are able to invite or fund.
